Call to
Order: Richard Kipper called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the January 22, 2007 meeting were
approved as circulated.
Introduction:
Updates
·
Through Marty Quill’s leadership, the Chancellor’s Golf Tournament netted
$55,000, $10,000 more than last year’s tournament.
·
MCC has received over $9 million from 25 grants last year.
·
The Legislature has approved 6 nursing positions and 5 counseling/student
services positions for the first year and 3 general education, 2 sustainable
science, and 1 dental hygiene positions for the second year of funding. This equates to $1.31 million in personnel
support and $1.48 million to nursing including the portable classroom.
·
The County has appropriated 500,000 to Nursing and Dental and $250,000 to
the Long-term Care Partnership.

Supplemental budget requests have been submitted for the Business Office,
Security, the
·
Enrollment is currently 2088 students with a 3274 target. Fall ’06 enrollment was 2841 students.
Preparation for
Baccalaureate: Clyde discussed issues and
implications including a name change to UH
Chancellor’s Advisory
Council Committee Structure: Richard outlined the various committees and
their functions. These include the
Program Committee which reviews and refines major programs and proposals; the
Marketing Committee which reviews, strengthens and monitors the marketing plan implementation;
the Governmental Relations Committee which reviews and refines goals and
activities related to State, County and Federal initiatives; and the Horizons
Committee which reviews and refines the development plan and monitors progress.

Pacific Radio Group-MCC Multi-media Project

Swap Meet should begin on campus Sept. 2008.

The

Student Housing-Rooms for 100 beds will be ready Aug. 15; Iwado Realty is
managing the project.

The House Finance Committee will visit MCC on July 25th.

The Community Forum will take place on August 8th at 3:00pm in
Pa`ina.
