Determine Your Email Server Type

1. Launch Netscape's email program and note the Password Entry Dialog box. Compare your dialog box to the example below and note whether you email
server type is IMAP or POP. |

1. Open your email program if it's not already open from the previous step, and type in your password. Click on the Edit menu and select Preferences |

3. Select the IMAP tab. Put a checkmark by clicking on Use secure connection (SSL) Click OK when done. Click OK to exit and save preferences. |

4. Close down Messenger and relaunch the program. Notice that the icon in the bottom left corner of the window is in an unlocked position. After logging in click on a message and notice that the lock is now in the locked position and the background is yellow. This verifies that your connection with the server is on the secure port.
