Certificate of Competence (Preschool CDA)

The Preschool CDA (Child Development Associate credential) 9-credit Certificate of Competence fulfills the education portion of a Preschool CDA. The application for a CDA credential, which is recognized in all 50 states, also requires an experience component, resource files, written and oral assessments and an application fee. 2.0 GPA required for all courses taken for the certificate.

ED 105 – Introduction to Early Childhood Education (3 credits)

    Prerequisites: ENG 19 with grade C or better, or placement at least ENG 22, or consent.

ED 110 – Developmentally Appropriate Practices (3 credits)

    Prerequisites: ENG 19 with grade C or better, or placement at least ENG 22, or consent.

ED 131 – Early Childhood Development: Theory into Practice (3 credits)

    Prerequisites: ENG 22 or placement at ENG 100, or consent.
