With the start of a new semester, workloads at high volume, stress levels increasing and exams that need to be aced, some students may consider peppermint oil a gift sent from heaven.

If you want better concentration, productivity and superior results when it comes to hitting the books and achieving your college goals, peppermint oil may be for you. Dr. Josh Axe, a certified nutrition specialist and chiropractor, is amongst the experts who contend that use of peppermint oil can provide mental, emotional and physical benefits.

“Literally, there are few body, health and mind issues that it cannot help,” he says on his website, draxe.com. “Peppermint essential oil gives a cooling sensation and has calming effects on the body, which can relieve sore muscles when used topically.”

Peppermint oil is often used through inhalation or by application to the skin. Also, as noted by WebMD, it’s included in some dietary supplements.

What Is Peppermint Oil?:

Peppermint oil is a hybrid species of spearmint and water mint and is regarded as one of the most versatile essential oil in the world. It can be an energy booster, focus promotor, pain reliever and breath freshener.

Peppermint oil has been documented back to 1000 BC, and it’s even discovered in Egyptian pyramids.

Six Most Common Peppermint Oil Benefits:

  • Increased energy
  • Improved mental focus
  • Headache relief
  • Hormone balance
  • Fever and nausea reduction
  • ADHD Support

Additional Benefits:

  • Muscle pain relief
  • Knee and other joint therapy
  • Bloating and indigestion reduction
  • Irritable bowel syndrome treatment
  • Appetite suppression
  • Sinus care and allergy relief
  • Acne treatment
  • Sunburn relief
  • Bug repellent
  • Cancer Treatment

Peppermint oil is also a cost-effective, natural alternative to drugs, according to Dr. Axe and some other healthcare providers.

Personal Testimonial:

Peppermint oil has the potential to increase your productivity and overall wellbeing, as it does for me every day. I achieve better focus, hormonal stability, clarity and stress reduction, just by a sniff or a few droplets on my neck and forehead.

As a college student, I have used peppermint oil to help me better retain information and communicate more effectively with my peers. I am happier, more clearheaded and producing a larger quantity and higher quality of school work.

A search of “peppermint oil” on Facebook and Twitter shows my experience isn’t unusual.

Where To Buy:

To acquire the purest, most authentic organic peppermint oil and other essential oils in the world, visit youngliving.com. Independent distributors on Maui include those affiliated with Young Living, an international firm specializing in essential oils.

While peppermint oil may be purchased in retail health stores, such as Mana Foods and Hawaiian Moons, they do not offer certified organic essential oils.

Concerns:

According to Dr. Axe, peppermint oil is generally safe when ingested in small quantities and when used topically. Peppermint oil may cause side effects such as heartburn, flush skin, mouth sores and headaches.

Some over-the-counter and prescription medication may adversely interact with peppermint oil. In addition, WebMD advices against peppermint oil use by pregnant or lactating women.

Important ~ Use essential oils with caution to pregnant women and people with allergies, but otherwise this is an excellent method.
