What is Laulima?
According to the Hawaiian dictionary, Laulima means “Cooperation, joint action; group of people working together; community food patch; to work together, cooperate. Literally, Laulima means “many hands." It is an ideal name, as many hands have created it, and many hands continue to utilize it. Our implementation of Laulima is a set of web based tools for learning, instruction, and collaboration. These tools are based on the open source Sakai collaborative learning environment (http://www.sakaiproject.org).
Did You Know ...
The Laulima sites for your credit courses are created automatically. About a week before classes start, the sites are automatically published and the ones from last semester are unpublished. You can also publish or unpublish your sites manually whenever you want.

Faculty and staff can also request additional collaboration or work spaces by clicking on the “Request Account” link on the bottom of any Laulima page.
