Limited Time Matching Opportunity
The Harold K.L. Castle Foundation has awarded UH Maui College’s Institute of Hawaiian Music $200,000 to support budding Hawaiian musicians.
This is a 1:1 challenge grant, whereby $1 given by a donor to the Institute of Hawaiian Music is matched by $1 from the Castle Foundation.
From now until August 2012, our goal is to raise $100,000 to support student scholarships (and possibly future endowed scholarships) so talented students from Hawai’i and throughout the world can study Hawaiian music.
Thanks to the Harold K. L. Castle Foundation and the donors who join us in this exciting matching opportunity, students participating in IHM will be mentored by Hawaiian music masters, take classes in Hawaiian culture and language, and professionally record their music for release. This will help launch their own careers as musicians or music technicians.
You can help build this truly unique music program with a gift to the UH Maui College Institute of Hawaiian Music Scholarship Fund and help IHM on the beautiful island of Maui fulfill this exciting challenge grant at www.uhfoundation.org/ihmscholarships
