This concert at Maui College is part of a week-long master class of Ben Verderyhis 16th consecutive summer on Maui to share his knowledge and passion for the classical guitar.

Makawao Union Church, 1445 Baldwin Ave., 2.5 miles up from Paia Town

Benjamin Verdery, Andrew York, and Ian O’Sullivan will perform a special concert to open the week, as a benefit for the Hawaii Nature Conservancy. Suggested donation is $10. The program will include music composed by the performers, and will include both solo and ensemble performances.

UH Maui College, New Science Building ‘Ike Le‘a lecture theatre

Ian O’Sullivan, Yale School of Music graduate Christopher Mallett, and UH-Manoa student Aaron Cardenas will perform a free concert at Maui College featuring a variety of music for solo guitar, as well as duets and music for ukulele.

Advanced participants in the class will perform a free concert of music by Verdery, Brouwer, Torroba, Brahms, Pasieczny, DeBlasio, and others.

Class participants will perform two free concerts, which will include solo performances and pieces for guitar orchestra composed and conducted by Mr. Verdery, Mr. York, and Mr. O’Sullivan.
