Instructor Joel Katz and students in his Intermediate Hawaiian Steel Guitar Class

Registration for Spring 2017 classes has begun, and there is no time better to hone your performance skills, or expand your musical horizons by taking a course at UH Maui College. We offer a wide variety of music classes, especially in the areas of Hawaiian, world, popular and rock music. Our faculty also provide instruction in piano, guitar, ‘ukulele, voice, theory, composition, music technology and recording, and private instruction by arrangement. Courses taught by the music faculty not only play an important role in the newly-created Academic Subject Certificate (A.S.C.) in Music Studies, but also the A.S.C. in Hawaiian Music offered by the Institute of Hawaiian Music (IHM).

If you are not currently a UHMC student, you’d be surprised how easy it is to enroll, and how much financial aid may be available to you!

Check out this listing of courses and their scheduled days and times, or download our brochure as PDF file. Also visit our course description page for more detailed information on the classes, and our instructor profile page to learn more about them! You can contact the instructors personally, or email Music Studies coordinator Dr. Keola Donaghy.
