As part of UH Maui College’s Annual MUSIC WEEK, music and history will join forces for the Hawa’i’i premiere of the new documentary.
Join Mike Ryan’s HIST152 World Civilizations Class and Anne Ku’s WI-MUS106 Introduction to Music Literature and MUS107 Music in World Cultures classes for this exciting event. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided by Bounty Music.
“Following the Ninth” is a 78-minute documentary film about Beethoven’s last symphony, the Ninth, in particular, how the famous “Ode to Joy” was used as an anthem of hope in historic events. We are especially excited to skype in the director Kerry Candaele for this premiere.
Doors open at 1:15 p.m. Movie will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m in Ka Lama 103.
