Classes start Monday August 24, 2015 and already eager pianists are wondering when they can get access to practice on one of the two dozen pianos in Kupa‘a 104, the main music classroom.
UHMC has one of the most diverse music offerings of any college. With the exception of the Institute of Hawaiian Music (IHM) which requires auditioning, most courses are offered without pre-requisites. No auditions. No entrance exams.
At UH Maui College, you can take up to three semesters of piano by starting with MUS121C and eventually ending with MUS216. It does not matter what level you are at, you will learn in a group situation as well as progress at your own individual pace. Evening piano class meets once a week for 2.5 hours

Mr. Rotman is a renowned international concert pianist who has performed over 2600 concerts in 60 countries. He presently performs approximately 110 concerts in 10 countries each year. MUS203 is a new course for anyone who can read music and play an instrument. The 1-credit course is repeatable every semester for credit. Once a week, we meet in Kupa’a 104 for two hours of sight-reading, improvising, and discussing what and where we’re going to perform next.
