Frequently Asked Questions

1. Am I required to attend an orientation session?

YES! The orientation staff understands the needs of incoming students and has designed a program that offers essential information in a high energy, interactive format.  Orientation offers you the chance to learn your way around campus and to meet other students, staff, and faculty.  Don’t miss this opportunity to learn all you can before that important first day of classes.

2. What will orientation be like?

The orientation program provides a variety of learning experiences, much like what you’ll experience as a college student at UHMC.  You’ll have opportunities throughout the event to get to know other students and see the programs and services available at UHMC. You will also hear from administration, staff and faculty.

3. Do I have to stay the whole time? Can I come late or leave early?

Arrive early and plan to stay through the end. It will make your experience much more enjoyable if you are not rushing in and out.

4. What if I have not registered yet?

At this point you should have applied, been accepted, taken placement tests and registered for your courses. If you have not completed these steps you should do these NOW. Call 984-3297 for more information on becoming enrolled and registered.

5. What do I need to bring?
