NSO FAQs

NSR = New Student Registration includes an academic advising appointment with a Counselor and assistance with registration for classes.  All First Time Freshmen have an academic advising hold placed on their record that prevents them from registering for classes until meeting with a Counselor during an NSR appointment. When you sign up via www.maui.hawaii.edu/accepted, you will be asked to provide your current contact information.  A representative of the Counseling Department will contact you within 3 business days to set up your NSR appointment.  If you haven't received a phone call within a week, please contact the Counseling Department at 984-3306.   NSO = New Student Orientation is a large group, interactive gathering of students which includes various activities and information on programs and services on campus. For up-to-date information on NSO and the activities we have planned, please visit http://maui.hawaii.edu/studentlife/new-student-orientation/ within the next couple of weeks.  NSR & NSO are both mandatory for all First Time Freshmen.  A First Time Freshman is a student who is entering into UH Maui College for the first time and has not taken any previous college courses at any institution.  If you are a participant of the Running Start and/or Early Admit programs, please see FAQ below for more clarification. If you are unsure of your classification, please contact Admissions & Records at 984-3267. First Time Freshmen that have already been accepted to UH Maui College can sign up for NSR & NSO via the www.maui.hawaii.edu/accepted website.  You will need your UH Username and Student ID number to log in. Once you log in, the system will verify if you have completed all the necessary admissions requirements.  If you are missing requirements, the system will list which requirements
