Student Government Candidates

Danette Arrojo

Candidate for President of Student Council
“I am very passionate about the voices of the students, encouraging students to be a part of student government, and advocating for students on the student council level as well as on the student caucus level, and leading into the Legislative process. I am enthusiastic about serving students, obtaining their needs, and listening to any suggestions that students may have. I believe that all students should know what is going on in their student council and I urge all students to come and sit in on our meetings. I also would like to work on more campus improvements and sustainability programs.”

Michael DeLouise

Candidate for Vice President of Student Council
“I want to continue as a member of the student government. I hope to be elected as Vice President to continue my position here and the duration of my term. This student government is a board of elected individuals with special talent and we seek to help accomplish a unique criterion as to work in harmony with all events shared alike to build each other in this body of elected support as a team. My being here to help has given me more than an opportunity to make good grades, or establish a friendship among my peers. I am part of this government to build my character and for my council members to share their character traits with me as being part of this student government, therefore there is more that will be revealed for each member of the board to share in our elected position here at UH Maui.”

Antoinette Castillo Nascimento

Candidate for Student Council Secretary
“On behalf of the students, I Antoinette Castillo Nascimento, believe that I would make a good point upon entering the Associated Students of University of Hawaii Maui College Student Government Council. By becoming part of the council I would gain the knowledge and idea on how to run an office. I believe that once I become part of the student government council, I will be able to put my talents and effort in standing strong for the school and students. Whenever, a student has a complaint I would like to bring it to the council for discussion and later then take care of the issue. I strongly believe that I would make a great contribution if given the opportunity, to grow and understand the concepts of the executive officers.”

Lynette LeTendre

Candidate for Student Council Treasurer
“This is my 4th semester at Maui College. I am a Liberal Arts Major, and have been interim Treasurer of Student Government for the last 2 semesters. I enjoy advocating for students, ensuring student funds are being used in a responsible manner, and encouraging students to reach for their dreams and accomplish their goals. I have made a CHOICE to serve YOU, the students, to the best of my ability and help students to have a voice not only at college, but also in the Legislative process. I believe it is important for students to know any issues they have can be handled not only by the campus counselors, but I encourage students to bring those issues to Student Government Council.”

While being on the council, I have helped the executive officers create their events to become successful.
