Resources to Help You Through College

The Learning Center’s College Resources is designed to provide all University of Hawaii Maui College students with the resources needed to help themselves become better students. We encourage all students to explore the various study skills topics and to actively participate in addressing individually identified academic challenges. These online resources, compiled by The Learning Center, are designed to aid students in becoming proactive in seeking additional academic support. If you have any questions or concerns on how to apply any resource you find on this site to fit your academic needs, please make an appointment with any of our TLC tutors.

TLC Learning Skills Workshops

The Learning Center strives for student success with our free Learning Skills Workshops. For the Spring Semester we are offering both Learning Skills and Grammar workshops.

Personal Learning Consultations

Meet one on one with a TLC faculty to review and make improvements to your study and personal habits. Topics covered include overcoming anxiety, managing time, general study skills, and planning and setting goals. Call 984-3446 or email ksmith@hawaii.edu to make an appointment. You may be asked to complete an assessment before the meeting. You and the faculty will work together to create an action plan based on your interests and needs.

Anytime, Any Place Online Workshops

Many students think that being a good student means just showing up for classes, taking a few notes, reading the textbooks, and studying right before the tests. However, learning, like many other activities, involves a complex set of skills that require practice. Check out our online resources for study skills.
