Programs for Native Hawaiians

Kaiao
Our Native Hawaiian haumana empowered through education and cultural connectedness, uplift ‘ohana and lahui. Kaiao provides students with guidance and support in helping them to achieve their educational goals through cultural enrichment activities that include field trips, hands-on cultural experiences, networking with other Hawaiian students, innovative classroom strategies, and leadership development opportunities.


Liko A‘e
The Liko A‘e Native Hawaiian Scholarship program provides scholarships for Hawaiian students pursuing college degrees in Hawaii or on the mainland. The program has sites at University of Hawai‘i Maui College, Kauai Community College, Hawai‘i Community College and University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. The goal of the program is to increase the enrollment of Native Hawaiians pursuing and competing post-secondary degrees.


Na Pua No‘eau
In the Hawaiian language, Na Pua, the flowers, refer to the talents of children as they blossom on their journey toward self-discovery. Na Pua No‘eau is an innovative enrichment program for Native Hawaiian children in grades K-12. Na Pua No‘eau encourages students from an early age to prepare for college. Mohala Ka ‘Ike
Mohala Ka ‘Ike is the Native Hawaiian Community Based Education Learning Center on the Kahului campus. The focus is to provide programs and activities which assist in sustaining the Native Hawaiian language and culture. Call 984-3362.
