Mission and Vision of the Veterans Resource Center:
The Veterans Resource Center at UH Maui College provides Student Veterans at all levels with academic support services to help them become successful, independent learners and reach their educational goals. To attain our mission, tutorial assistance; one-on-one, group, and online registration assistance; computer laboratories; e-mail and Internet access; and computer-assisted instructional programs are provided to our diverse Student Veteran population.
We envision a one-stop facility where students will receive cutting edge, high quality support services in a student-centered environment, helping students gain the skills needed to meet the rigors of their educational program and to embrace the challenges of an ever-changing world.
The Veterans Resource Center contributes to the mission and vision of UH Maui College by providing high quality academic support services in a stimulating environment for our diverse student population.
“When I was struggling, there was always that veteran I could go to here at the VRC and they’d say “come on, you can do this, I got faith in you,” and they’d give me that push to keep me from quitting.”
– Trudy Owen, Veteran, United States Army
The VRC staff “helped me go through the lengthy process of the benefits, navigating the websites, and made the transition a lot easier for me.”
– Kevin Oda, Veteran, United States Marine Corps
“The UHMC Veterans Resource Center has become an ideal hub for Veterans who are wanting to attend college and as a support site for Veteran Dependents.”
