Campus Wellness Hui wants you to get out and walk
The UH Maui College Wellness Hui invites you to get out and join its first Walking Moai (walking group) on Thursday, February 22, 2018.
Thanks to your commitment to the Blue Zones Project, UH Maui is on track on becoming an official Blue Zones college!
You took the first step by signing the pledge. The next step is to join the UHMC Walking Moai.
What is a Walking Moai?
Walking Moai’s are groups of up to 10 people who walk together at least once a week for 10 weeks. It is a great way to build friendships and encourage each other while tracking steps.
The UH Maui College Walking Moai launch event is on:
Thursday, February 22, 2018
Time: 12:00 p.m. Registration (Multi-Purpose room)
12:30 p.m. Official launch (walking groups will be formed)
1:00 p.m. First Walk
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
Please register at: info.bluezonesproject.com/cm/moai/uhmc
Who can join a Walking Moai?
Anyone – students, faculty or staff, can participate and join the group.
Is there a fee involved?
No fees. These events are free!
Where are we walking?
Here’s a map of the path. We are not going outside the campus property. Download a PDF here.
OK then, anything else?
Please dress comfortably and bring your own water.
Use sunscreen or a hat, if necessary.
UH Maui College has set a goal for the campus to be officially recognized as a Blue Zones Project Approved Worksite – a badge earned that implies well-being improvement initiatives are available to help its community make healthy choices in lifestyle, environment, policy and social networks. Those in the UH Maui community can also take a personal pledge by committing to adopting healthy habits into their lives.
You can also check out the Blue Zones website at: https://bluezones.com/.
