Maui College is a buzz with activity in the final weeks of the semester. This Saturday, April 9, 2016 the campus will host the Maui Keiki Fest with Anthropology Club and Circle K International assisting with volunteering. The Keiki Fest will be from 11:00am to 4:00pm on the campus Great Lawn.

On Tuesday, April 12, 2016 the Earth Day Planning Committee will host the final meeting in the Library at 3:00pm. This meeting will go over the final details of layout, entertainment, food and beverages, raffle prize organization, and the flow of the event. This meeting is open to all students that want to share ideas, offer to help with the event, or want to learn more. Any students or clubs interested in having a booth at Earth Day should attend the Earth Day Planning Meeting at 3:00pm in the Library.Earth-Day-2016

Tuesday, April 19, 2016 the campus will host its annual Career Fair. This year it will be in the multi-purpose room on the second floor of the Pilina Building from 11:00am- 2:00pm. Employers in the past years have said that the traffic outside of KaLama and the outdoor setting didn’t provide the atmosphere for engaging potential recruiting they are looking for. Career Link decided to move the event to the multi-purpose room for an indoor space away from the rush of class changing times. Students can get a list of attending employers from Career Link, bring a few copies of their resume, and get on the spot interviews.

Wednesday, April 20, 2016 the campus will host the 2nd Annual Earth Day Festival from 10:00am- 1:00pm on the campus Great Lawn. Live music, hula, over 25 local non-profit and community organizations, campus clubs, carnival theme booths with games, raffle prizes, tree planting, food and beverages. This is a free event open to the campus and public. This year’s Earth Day Festival is shaping up to be a big event with burgers being donated by Club 127, coconut water donated by Maui Soda & Ice, Grammy winning musicians, and much more!

The VisitThursday, April 21, 2016 the Student Activities Council will host the semesters final movie night in the Student Lounge in Pilina Building at 7:00pm. The movie is The Visit, a suspenseful horror film directed by M. Night Shyamalan, PG-13. Student Activities Council will provide beverages. Free for all students and their friends or family.

Sunday, April 24, 2016 the Student Ohana for Sustainability (SOS Club) will host an Adopt-A-Highway clean-up of Kahului Beach Road from 9:00am- 12:00pm. For two years SOS Club has been hosting this clean-up to protect the ocean from runoff and to keep our island clean. Food and beverages will be provided by Whole Foods. This is open to all students, faculty, and the campus and a great way to earn volunteer hours or just to feel good by helping our community.

Wednesday, April 27, 2016 Circle K International will be hosting a campus social event in the Ho’okipa Conference Room from 4:30pm- 6:00pm. This is a potluck style social open to all students and faculty, Circle K International is a service based club that partners with other campus clubs and community organizations to improve our community. To learn more, meet the new club officers, or just have a good time and enjoy good food stop by and have fun.

Wednesday, May 4, 2016 is the last day of instructions and Thursday, May 5, 2016 is a scheduled reading day. Finals week is Friday, May 6, 2016 through Thursday, May 12, 2016.

This year’s graduation ceremony will be held on the campus Great Lawn on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Seating for guests will be open at 4:30pm with the ceremony starting at 5:30pm. This will be the first time in many years that the graduation ceremony will be hosted on our own campus, previously it was hosted at the MACC.

    Friday May 6 is reading day. Thurs May 5 is final exam because Thurs 12th is graduation

      I thought so. I double checked the campus calendar and it has the 5th. Thanks for the info. It didn’t seem right that reading day was on a Thurs.
