It was an incredibly busy and productive week for IHM students.
On Wednesday, students Leihuanani Keali‘inohomoku, Destiny Mahaulu, and Kalani Librando-Souza performed for a private function at the Kea Lani Resort in Wailea. That evening, ten of us attended George Kahumoku’s Slack Key Show in Nāpili with the evening’s guest performer Nathan Aweau. On Thursday during our Applied Music Class, students were joined by IHM graduate and George Kahumoku Outstanding Student Award Winner Brad Bordessa. That evening, students performed and learned how to run live sound at the UH-MC open mic night. Finally, Brad returned on Friday morning to provide some personal tips to students who could make it that week.
Not a typical week, for sure, but a great way to keep momentum going as we steam toward the end of the year!
