LONELINESS
By Dhiane Martinez
Loneliness fishes in a
Fishless sea
On a boat that has never
Felt a summer breeze.
Beyond the blue,
He is soulless, voiceless.
The sea is silent.
Salt lingers dryly on his tongue.
The fisherman yearns,
He sings, he drifts, he waits.
The sun, his only friend,
Dives into the horizon.
Darkness devours him.
His basket, woven by love,
Holds nothing.
