ALOHA, YOKWE, and MAORI
By Iwalani Hall
Aloha, Yokwe, and Maori.
Love, greetings, and integrity.
My home where my ancestors once roamed
to watch the sunset nurture.
In the waves you see the lily crash.
We go back and there we see the flash,
the rainbow in the sky.
You said you wouldn’t lie.
Now you are gone,
away in the wind
with the clouds whisking by.
Why did you have to die?
You did all the right things,
except eat that pie.
Now you are gone.
Goodbye, goodbye,
Aloha, Yokwe, and Maori
