“Betrayal” by Joby Crichton

“Betrayal” by Joby Crichton
April 16, 2019 Nā Leo Literary Review

The road is long and wide.

His umbrella resting on his arm.

Those clouds disappear

too quickly.

Baby birds

chirp softly.

There is thunder and lightning,

but no rain.

One old car.

Driver with no eyes,

takes a quiet ride to

the beach.

Moonlight is fading.

With open arms, he looks

in the distance at the rain.

His umbrella is open.

Where did the clouds go?

The clock is ticking.

He plays the violin

on the stage in the rain.
