Lush taro patches everywhere

In the brown muddy water

As the feeling of dried mud hardens on your skin

This is Keanae

Birds chirping in the morning

While waves crash at night

Enough sound to put you to sleep

This is Keanae

As the rain falls

You can smell the moisture in the air

The rainbow in the sky with all the colors visible

This is Keanae

Fresh banana bread smell fuming up the whole house

It’s ready and everybody rushes to get in line first

Opening the drawer and grabbing the butter knife

Getting blasted by the cold wind as you open the fridge

Handling the cold container of cream cheese as you take a chunk of cream cheese and put it on your perfect slice

This is Keanae

Feeling the grass upon your toes

While you walk to the park

To get some shave ice

Cold and wonderful icy shave ice

Asking for the colors of the rainbow so you can experience it all

This is Keanae
