THREE LEAF CLOVER
Kevin Schneider
I see in front, I see before.
In my dreams I can see even more.
They tried to sit me at base of the steeple, but
I knew better than to trust those people.
My mind is my eye.
It has yet to lie.
I’ve seen all this before, and I know how it ends.
For those who look away, start counting by tens.
We are trapped in this world to do his bidding.
When we die, it is our pants that we will be shitting.
This is because we can do no good.
That’s not to say that shouldn’t or could.
My question is what if you were tricked into doing
something terrible? What if it was your own hubris
That makes good intent unbearable?
Ponder these quandaries long enough, and you’ll reach
a point when you can call everyone’s bluff.
After that you can see the truth, that we are all perverts drinking
poisoned vermouth.
There are no happy endings, it’s over when it’s over.
Existence holds as much meaning as a three leaf clover.
So just stumble through life like a drunken ogre.
