Little Treasures from Papohoku

By Toni Hoberecht

Impervious heart shaped sea glass, mermaid tiara.

Opaque fan shell, crooked toothed grin.

Pale dried blade of grass, fragmented roach leg.

Shrill chipped bottle bottom, broken cobalt wave.

Shiny yellow stone, old banana bubble gum.

Broken cone, marine swirl, slipping down the drain.

Curvy, kinked, coral, geometric molar.

Heaped wet bikini, shed viscid snakeskin.

Dank folded sun hat, baked behind rear-view glass.
