UH Maui College is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our faculty, staff and students. UH’s COVID-19 policies apply to UH Maui College College’s Continuing Education students. 
As of January 3, 2022, all students who plan to be on campus must be fully vaccinated OR have an approved medical or religious exemption. All students attending IN-PERSON classes must check in to the UH LumiSight App each time they come to campus. Students who are not vaccinated must be approved for an exemption from the COVID-19 vaccination; exemption requests must be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the first day of class. Students with approved exemptions must also test weekly and submit those results via the UH LumiSight App.

Private Lessons

Private lessons allow individuals the opportunity to maximize their English learning in a fully-customized format. Instructors will work one-on-one with the student to focus on the areas her or she needs to improve.

Application Fee (non-refundable): $125

Payment must be submitted with your application.  Fee waivers may be available for Hawai`i State residents.

All private lessons are held on the UH Maui College campus.

Private Lesson Cancellation Policy
The Maui Language Institute must be notified of any cancellation of a private lesson at least two business days prior to the scheduled lesson. Failure to notify MLI of a cancellation at least two business days prior to the scheduled lesson will result in the lesson being charged to the student, regardless of the student’s absence. Cancellations must be made via email to uhmcmli@hawaii.edu in addition to a phone call to (808) 984-3499. If the phone is not answered, a voice mail message must be left indicating the time of the cancellation of the lesson.
