The Human Microbiome: Its Role in Health & Disease

  • This talk will introduce you to the human microbiome: what it is made of, where it comes from and some basics on how to keep it healthy
  • We will also discuss some of the recent findings of links to changes in the microbiome and specific diseases like IBS, Crohn’s, Obesity and Depression
  • Lastly, we will be presenting the work we have been doing at UH Maui College on the Human mouth microbiome through the NIH funded INBRE program
