The process begins with submitting a Degree/Certificate Completion Application Form. UHMC graduates, if you have not done so already, meet with your academic counselor to review your courses and submit an application by May 7, 2025.

Applying to complete your degree/certificate (graduate) is a separate process from registering to participate in the Maui Commencement Ceremony. 

For non-UHMC graduates, complete the graduation application process at your home campus.

Students whose applications are submitted after March 31, 2025 may not have their names listed in the printed program. ALL students who apply by May 7, 2025 will have their names included in the online program.

Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony

Thursday, May 15, 2025
5:30 p.m.
University of Hawaiʻi Maui College - Kahului Campus

All graduates report to Pāʻina Dining Hall for rehearsal on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. and no later than 3:30 p.m.

Students must arrive no later than 3:30 p.m. to be present for rehearsal and seating. 

The Commencement Ceremony is open to the public and will be livestreamed and broadcast.

If you have submitted a Degree/Certificate Completion Application Form, you should have received an email with information on registration for Commencement Ceremony or you can REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY.

If you plan to participate in our on-campus commencement ceremony, please review the guidelines below:

• Graduates: Please use the Wahine Piʻo entrance across from the MACC. Report to Pāʻina Dining Hall at 3:00 p.m. for further check-in instructions. 
• All graduates must participate in official regalia.
• The use of kīhei over regalia is permitted.
• Gowns should not be altered in any way. 
• Your commencement gown size should be appropriate to your height. 
• You may personalize the top of your cap, but the design must adhere to University rules and the student code of conduct.
• The dress code for Commencement is BUSINESS CASUAL. Inappropriate attire (over or under your gown) will result in removal from participation.
• Only Phi Theta Kappa and Academic Program stoles will be allowed. No personal or club stoles.
• Please follow all posted and verbal instructions.
• Several picture-taking stations will be provided under the solar parking structures after the ceremony has completed.
• Traditionally, lei are not presented or worn until after the ceremony.

Regalia is required to participate in commencement. General regalia for UHMC graduates may be purchased from the UHMC Bookstore in person or online. Supplies are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so do not wait until the last minute.

You must be a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Psi Sigma Chapter member in good standing to purchase the PTK honors regalia. PTK honors regalia can be purchased from the UHMC bookstore. For questions about PTK, please email Shawna Pabingwit at martinsh@hawaii.edu.

Other UH campus graduates: purchase regalia from your home campus to ensure proper tassel color and gown.

• If you are a veteran, you may obtain a Veterans Honor cord from the Office of the Registrar.

• Official invitations are not available for purchase. Share this special invitation with your family and friends.

• There will be backdrops available for taking selfies and other personal photos.
• A photographer will be taking only candid photos at the ceremony.
• There will not be a professional photographer taking photos (no ordering prints).

• A First Aid station is available. 
• Parking for guests is available from the Wahine Piʻo entrance (near the MACC) and the Kaʻahumanu Avenue entrance.
• Overflow parking available at the MACC.
